Spring Kokanee has gotten off to a great start. We have been catching around a dozen fish every time we go out, and three of these fish have been larger than anything we caught last year. This size increase has us hoping to see fish reach the record size we had in 2010 when the world record was broken. Last year the quantity and size of the fish we caught increased as the season progressed, and we anticipate that trend occurring again this year.
We want to congratulate Kyle N. on his tremendous boar black bear he harvested this spring. This is Kyle’s 13th bear hunt and he connected in a big way. We utilized game cameras to locate this bear and understand some of his patterns, and after a week of us being in the wrong place at the wrong time the table turned and after stalking within 80 yards, Kyle made a flawless shot with his Cooper 300 win mag, and the bear’s story was written.
