An Evening with 6 Ranch Outfitters
Resilient to the Core: The Story of Captain James Nash
Fly Fish 6 Ranch
The 6 Ranch has conducted two large scale river restoration projects to create habitat for spawning steelhead, salmon and resident salmonid populations. The trout population and river health in this area is truly amazing, and it is a great place for experienced anglers to improve their technical skills in pocket water and for novice or first time anglers to establish a solid foundation for learning and enjoying fly fishing. Trips are walk and wade and waders are not generally required, simply shorts and sandals. Fly rods, reels, flies and a guide are provided. You will need weather appropriate clothing, and a fishing license. Trips are either four or six hours. $350 or $500 for 1-2 people, call or email for prices on additional anglers.
Fish Wallowa Lake
Wallowa Lake is one of the most beautiful parts of Wallowa County and is the location where the World Record Kokanee was caught, a fish over 27” long! We fish Wallowa Lake from a custom-built 23’ jet boat equipped with a very quiet electric trolling motor, the latest in downrigger and sonar technology, and even autopilot. Kokanee are our favorite fish in the world to eat and fishing for them, although technical, is very relaxing and enjoyable. Kick back on leather seats and let the boat do the work until it is your turn to reel in these delicious chrome colored fish from the clear glacial waters of this beautiful lake. Trips are four or six hours. Rates are $350 or $500 for 1-2 people and an additional $125 per additional guest. Maximum of four anglers.
We specialize in teaching hunting, not just guiding. So if you have never hunted, don’t know the rules, don’t own a weapon and aren’t sure how to get started, let us help. We hunt for upland birds, waterfowl, predators, varmints, deer and elk with archery equipment, rifles, and shotguns. Talk to us about what you are interested in and we will cater the trip to your needs.
Game Management Consulting
If you are a private property owner interested in managing wildlife for conservation or a specific management objective we can help. We utilize the best available science to determine what your wildlife population and composition is currently, and then offer methods for improving those populations. 6 Ranch Outfitters has experience working with a wide range of species in varying climates and states. These populations are tremendously valuable to us as land stewards, and to ensure abundance and diversity for future generations, we must keep our eye on habitat improvement.
